Our second brand ambassador related post of today (two more coming shortly) revolves around two very famous names: Rolex and Roger Federer. We were thrilled to see that this past weekend in Rotterdam, Roger Federer came out victorious at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament and reclaimed his status as the World No. 1 ranking for the first time since 2012. We were even more happy to see that following that win, Rolex sent out a release congratulating Federer.
The Swiss Federer defeated Italian Andreas Seppi in straight sets in the semi-finals and then bested Rolex ambassador (and World No. 5) 6-2 6-2 in the final — grabbing his third Rotterdam title. At 36 years old, Federer holds the record as the oldest top-ranked men’s player in history. According to the Rolex release: “The triumph came three weeks after he had added a 20th Grand Slam title to his trophy cabinet – four more than his nearest rival Nadal – by winning a second consecutive Australian Open, his sixth in all.”
Federer has been a Rolex brand ambassador since 2001, and joins many other star athletes on the Rolex roster.
