18-karat gold Manufacture Royale 1770 Micromegas Revolution
It was just last year that Manufacture Royale surprised watch lovers with its Micromegas timepiece with double tourbillon escapements rotating at different speeds. That watch was powered by the MR04 caliber. Now the brand unveils the new 1770 Micromegas Revolution with a new movement, MR08, and a host of technically advanced features.

The line and its name are inspired by the character invented by French philosopher, Voltaire (who actually founded Manufacture Royale). The Micromegas personality traveled the universe in search of knowledge. It seems knowledge in watchmaking is exactly what Manufacture Royale seeks – and delivers.
Even the medium sized rotor is placed on the dial side
The 1770 Micromegas Revolution features two flying tourbillons – each rotating at different speeds. One rotates once every 60 seconds, while the other spins ultra-rapidly: rotating every six seconds. This makes for a visually stunning dial as well as improved accuracy and precision. The hour hand tracks the hours on a smaller subsidiary dial, while a rotating skeletonized disk indicates the minutes.

The MR08 caliber that powers this self-winding watch features a medium sized rotor on its dial – ensuring that everything on the dial rotates and is in motion. In high-tech style, the automatic winding system is mounted on ceramic ball bearings and offers 40 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The 45mm watch is being made in titanium, retailing for $150,700, and in 18-karat rose gold, retailing for $178,200.
