IWC and some F1 movie actors at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting.
Actors Damson Idris and Kerry Condon, two of the lead stars in the highly anticipated upcoming movie F1, enacted a live stunt demonstration at the recent 82nd Members’ Meeting in Goodwood, held at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, England. IWC is the Official Timing Partner of the Members Meeting in Goodwood and the brand also plays a leading role in the F1 movie.
During the event, the actors shared intimate insights into their experiences on set and visitors were treated to an up-close look at an original race car used during the filming, housed in the IWC garage area. For the first time ever at this storied, invitation-only motor racing event, a live stunt demonstration took place on the Goodwood Motor Circuit, offering a thrilling taste of the high-precision car chase scenes typical of big-budget Hollywood productions.

This dramatic move was just the latest in a series of well-planned, high-impact moments by IWC, showcasing the brand’s deepening involvement in the world of Formula One and its cinematic debut. In the movie, Brad Pitt wears an IWC watch that was specially created for the movie and that recalls the original IWC watch that Pitt’s character, Sonny Hayes, wore.
Previewing IWC’s Ingenieur and F1 Movie Involvement
Earlier this year, I had the privilege of joining IWC in Milan with a select group of international journalists for an experience that was nothing short of immersive. The gathering took place well ahead of Watches and Wonders Geneva, granting us an exclusive first look at the new Ingenieur timepiece tied to the film—and the racing narrative behind it.

Over the course of several days, we were drawn deep into the brand’s world. We didn’t just see the watch; we handled it alongside key props from the movie—gloves, helmets, and even driving gear inspired by what the film’s characters wear.
Every detail, from the venue to the interactions, was orchestrated to reinforce IWC’s growing commitment to the racing universe. In some ways, it felt more like stepping into a film set than attending a product preview. At that same Milan event, we also explored the newest IWC Pilot’s Watches—but that, as they say, is a story for another day.

All of this led up to IWC’s official unveiling at Watches & Wonders Geneva of a striking new version of its classic Ingenieur, the IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 with a green grid dial, worn by Pitt’s character in the film. The grid dial, inspired by 1970s Gérald Genta design codes, evokes the tension and structure of F1 racing with a modern twist.

The film, directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), aims to bring a new level of authenticity to racing cinema, and IWC’s involvement goes far beyond product placement. The brand has collaborated closely with the production team, further establishing its presence in the Formula One paddock—both on and off screen.
Also at the 2025 Goodwood Members’ Meeting, IWC premiered a short film about its Ingenieur SL, Reference 1832, stainless steel watch with an integrated bracelet that was created by renowned Geneva watch designer Gérald Genta. Details on that watch are here.
