Armin Strom MIrrored Force Resonance Red
The Mirrored Force Resonance has long stood as one of the most technically intriguing watches in contemporary independent watchmaking. Now, Swiss manufacture Armin Strom is giving the award-winning timepiece an entirely different personality with the introduction of the Mirrored Force Resonance Red, a limited edition of just 15 pieces worldwide.
While the mechanics remain unchanged, the watch feels dramatically different. Replacing previous dial colors with a vivid red guilloché surface instantly transforms the character of the timepiece, emphasizing the energy and dynamism that have always defined the resonance display. Not that we didn’t love all of the other colors, including the icy blue, but each color endows the watch with a different attitude.

The off-centered dial of the Armin Strom MIrrored Force Resonance Red is magnificently guilloched.
The off-center dial is crafted using a traditional hand-operated rose engine lathe that creates a radiating guilloché pattern whose reflections shift continuously with changing light. Black azuré chapter rings frame the display, while faceted applied hour markers appear to float above the dial, creating additional visual depth. The anthracite-coated bridges and dark grey Alcantara strap allow the brilliant red dial to command attention.
The color seems especially appropriate for Armin Strom. Bold, confident and impossible to ignore, red reflects the same independent spirit that has defined the Biel-based manufacture since its founding. It is easy to imagine that master watchmaker Armin Strom himself—known throughout his career for pushing traditional craftsmanship in new directions—would have appreciated the dramatic statement.

THe Armin Strom MIrrored Force Resonance Red is powered by the ARF 21 movement.
Of course, the real star remains the movement beneath the dial. The manufacture Caliber ARF21 incorporates two completely independent movements, each with its own barrel, gear train, escapement and regulating organ. Rather than relying on a shared oscillator, the two balance wheels synchronize naturally through Armin Strom’s patented Resonance Clutch, continually exchanging vibrations until they enter harmonic resonance. The result is greater chronometric stability and improved rate consistency—one of watchmaking’s rarest physical phenomena successfully harnessed in a wristwatch.
A pusher at 2 o’clock simultaneously resets both seconds hands, allowing the wearer to watch the two independent systems once again find resonance. Visible through sapphire crystals on both sides, the manually wound movement is finished with hand-polished bevels, frosted surfaces, perlage, circular graining and black-polished screws before each watch undergoes Armin Strom’s signature two-stage assembly process.

Just 15 pieces of the Armin Strom MIrrored Force Resonance Red will be made.
Limited to just 15 examples and priced at CHF 78,000, the Mirrored Force Resonance Red proves that sometimes a new color can give even one of independent watchmaking’s best-known technical achievements an entirely new pulse.
