At Baselworld, we got the chance to get close up and hands on with the amazing Louis Moinet Memoris 200th Anniversary watch. The timepiece marks the 200th anniversary of the worlds’ first chronograph – which was introduced by Louis Moinet. To celebrate, the new Memoris 200th Anniversary watch uses an all-new engraving technique never before used in watchmaking. The technique enables the brand to individually paint and decorate each and every star constellation on the watch mainplate. The watch also boasts an enamel dial, a new mainplate and new translucent flange and counter bridge.
Memoris 200th Anniversary is a monopusher chronograph with column wheel mechanism that is visible on the dial side. It offers hours, minutes, seconds and chronograph counters fro 60-seconds and 30 minutes. The watch is powered by the automatic LM54 caliber with 302 individual parts, including an “Energie Plus” Pawl winding mechanism — all designed and manufactured in house by Louis Moinet. The watch, which retails for $69,995, is indicative of the superb innovation and excellence emanating from this independent brand.
