Omega is giving its Speedmaster 38mm collection a meaningful refresh, introducing seven new references that sharpen the family resemblance to the legendary Moonwatch while retaining the smaller proportions and more colorful personality that distinguish the line.
The changes may seem subtle at first glance, but together they give the 38mm Speedmaster a cleaner, sportier presence. Most noticeable are newly rounded subdials replacing the previous oval-shaped counters. Omega has also reduced the amount of wording on the dial and returned to a thicker bezel design complete with the famed Dot-Over-Ninety detail associated with vintage Speedmasters and the Moonwatch.
Completing the transformation, all seven watches are now fitted with five-link, Moonwatch-inspired bracelets, with polished or brushed central links depending on the model.

“The Speedmaster 38 mm has always taken its cues from the Moonwatch, while keeping size, colour, and simplicity in mind,” says Omega President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann. “With this latest update, we’ve taken the Moonwatch inspiration even further.”
Perhaps the most traditional of the new models is the steel version with black varnished matte-finish dial and black aluminum tachymeter bezel. White Super-LumiNova fills the hands and indexes for the classic high-contrast Speedmaster look. Unlike the other six watches, it eliminates the date and is powered by the automatic Co-Axial Caliber 3332. It is priced at $6,500.

Two additional steel models introduce more color. One pairs a lacquered white dial with a blue ceramic bezel and blue CVD-coated hands and indexes ($7,100). The other combines a silvery opaline PVD dial with a warm gray aluminum bezel and Sedna Gold PVD details ($6,700).
For those wanting a touch of precious metal, two bicolor editions mix stainless steel with either Omega’s proprietary Moonshine Gold or Sedna Gold. The Moonshine Gold version is particularly striking, pairing a silvery opaline dial with a green aluminum bezel, while the Sedna Gold model plays up the collection’s familiar “cappuccino” aesthetic with an ivory dial and brown subdials. Both are priced at $11,700.

At the dressier end of the spectrum are two diamond-set versions, each sporting 52 diamonds totaling 1.53 carats around the bezel. Buyers can choose between an ice-blue PVD dial or white mother-of-pearl dial, bringing a decidedly more glamorous attitude to the chronograph. Prices are $12,300 and $13,100, respectively.
The six date-equipped models house Omega’s automatic Co-Axial Caliber 3330, while the black no-date model uses the Caliber 3332. Together, the seven watches make a strong case for the 38mm Speedmaster as more than simply a smaller alternative. They bring Moonwatch heritage into a more versatile—and colorful—package.
