Its newest additions to the Citizen L Rainell collection, that was unveiled last year, deliver exactly that.
The collection introduces five new models, including a limited edition accented with diamonds, all built around one of the most recognizable case designs in Citizen’s lineup: the graceful raindrop-shaped silhouette that gives the Rainell Collection its name. Softly curved and organic, the compact case sits comfortably on the wrist while offering an elegant alternative to the traditional round watch.

The new models are equally compelling for their dials. Rather than relying on bold colors or elaborate decoration, Citizen uses subtle textures and gradients to create depth and visual interest. The effect is particularly striking on the limited-edition model, whose blue dial evokes the sky after a refreshing rainfall.
Fine dot textures and gentle tonal transitions create a grain-like appearance reminiscent of Impressionist brushstrokes, while 43 diamonds encircle the bezel, adding brilliance without overwhelming the design. Just 3,500 pieces of this stainless steel version will be made for worldwide distribution. It retails for $925.

The four non-diamond models continue the same design language with softly graduated dials in white, black, off-white and beige. Their restrained palettes emphasize the textured surfaces, allowing light to play across the dial throughout the day. The white and black dial versions are crafted in stainless steel ($525), while the off-white and beige dial models are created in yellow and rose gold-plated steel ($575), respectively. Blue cabochon-style ceramic crown accents, slim applied indexes and polished, supple metal bracelets complete the refined aesthetic.
Like all Citizen L watches, the new Rainell models combine jewelry-inspired styling with Citizen’s practical approach to watchmaking, creating timepieces that transition effortlessly from day to evening. They are all light powered by Eco-Drive, which is celebrating 50 years of advanced technology. This movement can run for one year with a full charge.
