The newest timepiece in a great line-up of affordable Casio Edifice watches for men just hit the scene. The Edifice EQS800 is inspired by Formula 1 racing and is a solar-powered chronograph with a high-tech carbon dial. The charging technology continually stores energy via a solar panel under the inset dials. Even better than the eco-friendly technology and the looks is the price: it is available now in stores for just $170.
Casio Edifice Solar Power
The new Edifice EQS800 solar chronograph makes use of Casio’s Solar Power, which consists of a solar panel system that converts light to electricity to power the watch. No worries if the sun is uncooperative, the watch can be charged in low light or fluorescent light. Once the watch is fully charged, it has a battery life equivalency of approximately five months.
As to the motorsports inspiration, Casio has been an official partner of the Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula 1 team for a couple of years now, and the carbon fiber used for the dial of this watch is the same type of material used in the F1 cars. There are three versions being made: stainless steel with black IP bezel; stainless steel with blue IP bezel, and black resin strap with black IP bezel and case. It is water resistant to 100 meters and has a scratch-resistant mineral crystal. In terms of functions, the watch offers stopwatch, date display, and battery level indicator.
“The EDIFICE EQS800 is a testament to the advancements in technology we bring to the table with this line of timepieces,” said David Johnson, Vice President of Casio’s Timepiece Division. “We understand that consumers are looking for high-quality products that meet the challenges of their fast-paced lives and that is what we strive to bring to our EDIFICE line. The EQS800 provides both function and fashion for consumers looking to impress and stay on time.”
