Yes, in January at SIHH, there was talk of how Bremont’s involvement in the 35th America’s Cup would continue. The brand has been on board with the America’s Cup Event Authority since 2015 – holding various titles and relationships. Now, the brand continues to work with the Event Authority and – today in England — unveils several important new collections in honor of the world’s greatest sailing competition. Among the new models is the Bremont AC35 in 18-karat gold and the Bremont AC-R-II
The relationship between Bremont and America’s Cup makes perfect sense. The first competition was held in 1851 off the shores of England. The winning boat, the fastest boat to sail around the Isle of Wight, was awarded the trophy. The schooner “America” won and somehow the great Cup and the competition became known as the America’s Cup. However, the Cup is also often affectionately known as the “Auld Mug.”
The new Bremont AC35 honors the 35th America’s Cup. Inspired by the J-Class yachts of the 1930’s, this new timepiece is powered by the Bremont BWC/01 automatic movement
fitted with Bremont-branded rotor, Glucydur balance, Nivarox CT balance spring and Nivaflex 1 mainspring. The watch features a highly efficient double reverser bi-directional winding mechanism and offers 50 hours of power reserve. The BWC/01 is elegant and beautifully finished with many of its parts crafted at Bremont’s workshops.
The Bremont Trip-Tick ® cased timepiece offers hours and minutes, along with a running seconds hand at 9:00 and date at 6:00. Crafted in 18-karat gold, the Bremont AC35 features a black opaline dial with printed numerals and has the America’s Cup “Auld Mug” embossed on it, along with the words “America’s Cup, Bermuda.” The 43mm COSC-certified chronometer features blued steel hands and is water resistant to 100 meters. The caseback with integrated exhibition crystal features engravings with the individual serial number of the watch.
Bremont also unveils its third Regatta movement with the Regatta AC-R-II, being made in a limited edition of 135 pieces. The chronograph watch with regatta countdown function is created in stainless steel made to a hardness of 2000Vickers, seven times that of average steel watch cases. Functions include hour, minute and small seconds, with stop-second function and date at 4:30. The chronograph function with sweeping center hand offers 12-hour and 15-miinute counters.
The convex sapphire crystal has nine layers of anti-reflective coating and the watch features a specially designed 15-minute countdown disk for additional timing functionality. In fact, it features a patented inner bi-directional Roto-Click® bezel operated via 8H crown. It is powered by the modified BE-54AE automatic chronometer caliber with Anachron balance spring and Nivaflex 1 hairspring and offers 42 hours of power reserve.

The rich black dial features the regatta countdown in red, white and blue and the steel COSC-certified chronometer is finished with a rubber blue strap. Water-resistant to 100 meters, the watch features an exhibition caseback.
