We’re Off to Baselworld 2018
It is officially that time of year again. Today, we embark on the journey to Baselworld 2018 — easily one of the most important watch and jewelry exhibitions of the year. It will be interesting to witness the lay of the land there this year, as hundreds of exhibitors opted out, several halls are closed and attendance is expected to be slower than normal. In fact, some editors are saying it is the beginning of the end for Baselworld because of the reduction in number of exhibitors and for a host of reasons. Still, the show does play home to more than 700 exhibitors, and surrounding areas outside the show halls are home to another nearly 100 brands that hold meetings in hotels, rented spaces, apartments, and more. So, as we are bound for Baselworld 2018, we expect some exciting times.
Baselworld 2018 kicks off on Wednesday the 21st with opening day events and the show runs from Thursday March 22 through March 27.
To begin with, we have a rather grueling schedule with more than a dozen appointments packed into each and every day, not to mention scheduled cocktails, dinners and even breakfast meetings (no time for lunch). Of course, the heavy-hitter brands will be there: Patek Philippe, Rolex, Chopard, Hublot, TAG-Heuer, and so many more. We will see them all, and as such, we will be bringing short news to you here every day. When we return, we will do a much deeper dive into hundreds of brands we will see while there.
