A. Lange & Sohne Temporist International Awards 2025
Just over a week ago, the world of horology converged in Zurich for a glittering night at the 12th edition of the Temporis International Awards Gala. Held in Zürich, the event—its own smaller version of the “Golden Globes of Watchmaking”—once again celebrated the artistry, ingenuity, and craftsmanship that define modern watchmaking.
Now in its twelfth year, the Gala has evolved into one of the most respected independent stages for recognizing excellence in contemporary horology. Primarily this is because the voting is open to the public at large and nominees do not have to pay entrance fees for their competing watches.

This year, the reach was truly global: more than 10 million people across 80 countries followed the event, with over 350,000 participating in the public vote. The numbers alone speak to the growing fascination with the world of fine watches and the passion that unites collectors, creators, and enthusiasts alike.
The 2025 edition showcased a great array of timepieces that pushed creative and technical boundaries—from bold everyday watches to grand complications.

Dan Vardie of Temporis International Awards.
Two standout honors capped the evening: the Jury Watch of the Year 2025 was awarded to the Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Solaria Ultra Grand Complication – La Première, recognized for its audacious design and technical sophistication. The top prize, Watch of the Year 2025, went to A. Lange & Söhne’s Minute Repeater Perpetual, which opened the gala as a Watches & Wonders award winner and closed it as the ultimate triumph of the night—a rare double victory underscoring the brand’s mastery of mechanical art.
The international jury, a blend of fresh perspectives and established icons, included industry luminaries such as Jean-Claude Biver, Jeff Dodds, and Stefano Macaluso, alongside new members Dr. Andy Palmer, Roger Ruegger, Miguel Seabra, and myself. Together, the jury evaluated dozens of watches representing the best of traditional and modern horology. However, in the end their only choice was the Jury Watch of the Year; the rest was determined by public voters.

The night also welcomed several Hall of Fame legends—Carole Forestier-Kasapi, Kurt Klaus, Martin Frei, Stephen McGonigle, and Andreas Strehler—whose presence underscored the Gala’s role as both a celebration and a summit of watchmaking excellence.
Founded by Dan Vardie of Temporis Media, the Awards honor creativity across all tiers of the industry, from start-ups to storied maisons. As Vardie noted, “From new talent to legendary brands, we celebrate the diversity and global passion for watchmaking.”
