David Yurman Liberty Cable Bracelet
As America approaches its 250th anniversary, luxury brands across multiple categories are creating commemorative pieces that blend artistry, heritage and symbolism. One of the most compelling comes not from watchmaking, but from American jewelry house David Yurman, which has unveiled a unique high-jewelry Liberty Cable bracelet created in partnership with American Friends of Versailles.
More than a diamond-set showpiece, the bracelet celebrates the enduring cultural relationship between France and the United States while helping fund restoration work at Versailles ahead of America’s celebration. The one-of-a-kind cuff will be sold during the upcoming Legacy of Light auction, with proceeds benefiting restoration of the historic Salon de Diane at the Palace of Versailles.
For collectors accustomed to admiring the hand craftsmanship, technical precision and historical storytelling behind fine mechanical watches, the Liberty Cable bracelet offers a similarly layered narrative. The piece required roughly six months of development and combines sculptural engineering, meticulous gem-setting and symbolism tied directly to Lady Liberty and the long-standing friendship between France and America.

The one-of-a-kind David Yurman Liberty Cable Bracelet recalls Lady Liberty’s crown.
Via a deft blend of design elements from David Yurman’s iconic cable jewelry and its Liberty high jewelry collection, the brand created a sculptural cuff in 18-karat white gold set with 2,382 diamonds totaling more than 25 carats.
Unlike the brand’s traditional cable bracelets formed from twisted wires, this high-jewelry version was sculpted to create a more fluid and structurally stable surface for diamond setting. Approximately 160 hours were devoted to setting the stones alone, with artisans hand-carving the gold to accommodate each diamond individually before placing them one by one using tiny tweezers.
The bracelet also incorporates a concealed hinge system developed specifically for the piece so the opening mechanism disappears seamlessly into the design without interrupting the silhouette.
Launched in time to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, the bracelet will be unveiled at a private event at the David Yurman boutique in Paris on June 7, 2026. After that, it will be sold at the American Friends of Versailles Legacy of Light auction. The American Friends of Versailles plays a pivotal role in preserving the hand-painted ceiling (by Charles Le Brun and his artists during Louis XIV’s reign) of the Salon de Diane. It has undergone major restoration and will be revealed this month before the June gala. All of the proceeds from the sale of the Liberty Cable Bracelet will go directly to the restoration of the Salon de Diane.
This is not the first such philanthropic Parisian endeavor David Yurman has undertaken. In fact, since opening its first international flagship store in Paris on Rue Saint-Honore’ in 2022, the brand has supported restoration efforts benefitting the Muse’e du Louvre and preserving historic sculptures in the Jardin des Tuileries by artists such as Debay, Foyatier, Nanteuil and Ramey.
