This past weekend, at the 151st Kentucky Derby, Sovereignty raced to the win, ridden by jockey Junior Alvarado. Longines was there, as usual, to time the event down to fractions of a second. In fact, the brand is the Title Sponsor, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the iconic race, as well as of the Kentucky Oaks race. It also presents a watch to the winning jockey and owner, and this past weekend was no exception.

Longines Conquest watch
In a tradition that honors excellence in equestrian sport, Longines CEO Matthias Breschan presented elegant Longines timepieces to the Kentucky Derby winning jockey, trainer, and owner of Sovereignty. The watch awarded to the winner of the 151st Longines Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby: the Conquest Chronograph. Aptly named, the Conquest dates back to 1954, and has become an icon line for the brand.
The 42mm Conquest Chronograph is crafted in stainless steel and is water-resistant to 100 meters. Powered by an exclusive Longines self-winding mechanical movement with a silicon balance spring and non-magnetic components, the watch boasts an attractive snailed champagne sunray dial. The rhodium-plated hands and hour markers are treated with Super-LumiNova® for enhanced readability. The contrasting black subsidiary dials and ceramic tachymeter bezel offer sporty appeal
