This past weekend, TAG Heuer once again cemented its dominance in the world of motorsports as the single luxury watchmaker to serve as top sponsor at both the Indianapolis 500 and the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco. To celebrate, the Swiss brand unveiled three striking new iterations of its legendary Monaco timepiece: the Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch, the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph 2025, and the Monaco Chronograph x Gulf. These launches, timed to coincide with the engines roaring in Monaco and Indianapolis, reflect TAG Heuer’s roots in racing culture and its ongoing commitment to horological innovation.
TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph

TAG Heuer Monaco Split Seconds Chronograph
The Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph 2025 is the crown jewel of this year’s releases, a technical masterpiece that showcases TAG Heuer’s latest material breakthrough: TH-Titanium. Developed entirely in-house, this new grade of titanium offers exceptional strength while weighing just 30 grams. The 41mm case is sandblasted for a bold, elemental look and features a polished sapphire bezel and a fully transparent sapphire caseback—giving an unobstructed view of the highly complex Caliber TH81-00 movement.
This split-seconds chronograph beats at an impressive 5 Hz (36,000 vph), delivering high-frequency precision with a 65-hour power reserve when the chronograph is off (55 hours when on). The complication allows for the measurement of two separate events starting at the same time—ideal for competitive racing. Its visual layout includes three subdials, lime lacquered accents, and a central split-seconds hand. The chronograph pushers and split-seconds mechanism are all engineered in fine-brushed grade-5 titanium, with lime-lacquered detailing providing a flash of contemporary flair. It is finished with a black calfskin strap with textile embossing and lime stitching, and retails for CHF 145,000.
TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch

TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch
In tribute to the 1960s and 70s golden era of motorsport timing, TAG Heuer has unveiled the Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch—a limited edition of 970 pieces that pays homage to the brand’s iconic dashboard stopwatches. The 39mm case, in sandblasted black DLC-coated titanium, delivers a stealthy, vintage-inspired profile. The dial continues the retro theme, with high-contrast black and silver opaline counters, echoing the utilitarian clarity of Heuer’s early racing timers.
Inside ticks the tried-and-true Caliber 11 automatic movement, offering hours, minutes, seconds, date, and chronograph functions. A red lacquered chronograph hand and blue Super-LumiNova® on the faceted black-gold hands lend the dial both legibility and dynamic flair. The 6 o’clock angled date window adds symmetry while reinforcing its racing instrument heritage. Completing the look is a black perforated calfskin strap. Water-resistant to 100 meters it retails for CHF 9,600.
TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph x Gulf

TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph X Gulf
TAG Heuer’s long-standing partnership with Gulf Oil returns in a striking new Monaco Chronograph x Gulf edition, released just in time for the Indy 500. The watch directly references the enduring legacy of Steve McQueen’s performance in the 1971 film Le Mans, when the actor wore a Monaco while driving a Gulf-liveried Porsche 917K. This year’s edition not only nods to the movie’s legacy but revives a physical piece of history in the form of its strap.
The white strap is crafted by Indiana-based Hinchman, the same company that made McQueen’s original racing suit. Remarkably, the straps are made from the exact same fabric still preserved in Hinchman’s archives, adding an unmatched level of authenticity. Limited to 971 pieces—marking the year Le Mans debuted—this model is powered by the automatic Caliber 11 and features the iconic Gulf blue and orange color scheme.
The dial is fine grained silver over which the signature Gulf racing stripes run vertically, instantly recognizable and mirroring those found on McQueen’s suit. Below the hands sits the Gulf logo and the vintage Heuer logo. It retails for CHF 9,300.
