Each dial is cut from genuine ruby, chosen for its vivid depth, tonal variations, and fine inclusions that only nature can create. No two stones are alike, making every piece unique. The ruby dial radiates a dynamic, mineral intensity, shifting in color as light hits it, and giving warmth and life to the precise, exposed mechanics beneath. In watchmaking, synthetic ruby jewels inside the movement reduce friction and ensure accuracy. Here, though, the natural ruby dial provides visual drama. By  turning to a local stone artisan in Europe, Armin Strom creates a stunning edition that embodies Claude Greisler’s philosophy that materials should carry meaning, not just style.

The watch is housed in a 43 mm stainless steel case, paired with a grey Alcantara strap with crisp white stitching. White Roman numerals add a classical counterpoint to the contemporary, architectural movement.

At the core is Armin Strom’s  manual-winding Caliber ARF21, entirely in-house. Its patented Resonance Clutch synchronizes twin balance wheels in harmonic resonance, enhancing long-term precision and chronometric stability. A pusher at 2:00 resets both seconds counters simultaneously, offering a literal, visual demonstration of the resonance phenomenon. The movement operates at 3.5 Hz (25,200 vph) with a 48-hour power reserve, combining centuries-old physics with modern mechanical mastery. This video helps explain mirrored force and how it works.

Hand-finishing elevates the movement further: polished bevels, black-polished screws, perlage, circular graining, and Geneva stripes all create depth and texture. The ruby dial dances with the exposed mechanics, forming a kinetic, three-dimensional display. Every watch is assembled twice to ensure perfect performance and finishing. It retails for CHF 85,000.
