A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin new pieces in Honey Gold and Platinum.
Today, from Newport, Rhode Island, A. Lange & Söhne unveils its newest Saxonia Thin timepieces against the remarkable backdrop of the Audrain Concours d’Elegance. The setting is no coincidence. Just as vintage automobiles embody beauty, power, and mechanical ingenuity, A. Lange & Söhne’s German-crafted watches channel the same spirit of timeless design elevated by innovation. It is the brand’s ethos to align with classic elegance and beauty.
For more than a decade, A. Lange & Söhne has been a fixture at some of the world’s most prestigious motoring events—from the lakeside glamour of Villa d’Este on Lake Como to the royal gardens of Hampton Court Palace—where connoisseurs gather to celebrate artistry, precision, and the joy of engineering mastery.

Since 2023, the brand has been the Presenting Partner of the Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week, held at The Breakers, the Vanderbilt mansion with sweeping views of the Atlantic. The event brings together more than 180 classic cars alongside a curated showcase of Lange timepieces. It’s a celebration of performance and poise—where finely tuned engines meet finely tuned calibers.

A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin with onyx gemstone dial.
The A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin is the perfect example of refined elegance thanks to its slim profile and artistically finished precision mechanical movement. The two new versions include one cased in the brand’s proprietary 750 Honey Gold® and one cased in 950 platinum.
Both new Saxon Thin watches feature a jet-black onyx gemstone dial with a high-polish finish. The dial is accented with long, slender hands that have been perfectly proportioned for the watch, and applied markers – all in the same metal color as the three-part case. The result: one of the most sleek and sophisticated A. Lange & Söhne watches currently in the lineup.

The case of the A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin measures just 6.2mm high — about a quarter of an inch.
The case itself, measuring 40mm in diameter, is just 6.2mm high – about the same height as a piece of corrugated cardboard, or three stacked US quarters – making it incredibly appealing on the wrist, especially under a shirt cuff.
Inside this beauty is another slim wonder: the manufacture movement, caliber L093. This manually wound hours and minutes movement, visible via a transparent sapphire crystal case back, measures 2.9mm in thickness thanks to a flat mainspring barrel. Boasting 72 hours of power reserve, the watch features an oscillation system with a shock-resistant screw balance and beats at 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour.

The new A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin Honey Gold and Platinum versions retail for approximately 45,000 Euro.
The plates and bridges are made of untreated German silver and the entire 167-part movement is hand finished and decorated to A. Lange & Söhne’s exacting standards before being hand assembled. Just 200 pieces of each version will be made, retailing for approximately 45,000 Euro.

Every one of the 167 components of the manually wound movement of the A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin is hand finished.
