Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Blue
In a horological landscape increasingly focused on transparency, depth, and architectural design, Armin Strom once again asserts its mastery of technology and aesthetics with the new Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Blue. While the technical architecture of the Gravity Equal Force remains the same, it is the color in this version — the serene, icy tone of glacial Swiss lakes—that stands out.
Part of the brand’s System 78 collection, the stainless steel Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Blue is a study in cool contrasts and refined restraint. The glacial blue dial is not simply a color; it’s a texture, a mood, and a story told across the main plate, dial, and strap.

Just 25 pieces of the Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Blue will be made annually.
The most captivating element is the richly textured, icy blue guilloché main plate, crafted by master watchmaker Kari Voutilainen, who has worked with Armin Strom before. Executed in PVD-coated glacial blue, the plate serves as a shimmering, patterned canvas behind the transparent sapphire crystal dial that is off-centered to the left and that reveals the inner workings of the movement. Finishing the look with graceful harmony is a blue nubuck leather strap with ice-blue stitching.

At the heart of the 41mm watch beats Armin Strom’s proprietary Caliber ASB19 automatic 202-part movement that combines stop-work declutch mechanism with a Geneva cross inside the barrel. This patented system ensures that the torque delivered to the balance wheel remains constant throughout the 72-hour power reserve, dramatically improving isochronism and overall timekeeping precision.
Also notable is the movement’s compact micro-rotor, which winds the watch efficiently without adding unnecessary thickness. The result is a sleek profile—just 12.65 mm high. Techniques like beveling, black polishing, Geneva stripes, and perlage are masterfully executed and visible from both front and back via sapphire crystals with anti-reflective treatment.

Produced in an annual limited series of just 25 pieces per year and priced at CHF 27,500, this edition embodies the values of the System 78 collection: independent spirit, architectural ingenuity, and masterful hand-finishing. It also pays tribute to co-founders Claude Greisler and Serge Michel, whose shared birth year inspired the collection’s name—and whose continued leadership ensures the brand remains at the cutting edge of haute horlogerie.
