World Watch Day 2026
On October 10, the global watch community comes together to celebrate the artistry, craftsmanship and heritage of watchmaking. Why 10:10? For those of us who have spent decades photographing watches, those four little digits mean something special.
Over the course of my 40 years covering the watch industry, I’ve orchestrated hundreds of watch photo shoots for magazines, and there was always one detail we paid particular attention to: making sure the hands were set at 10:10.
Why? Because that positioning generally offers a beautifully balanced view of the dial, keeps the hands from obscuring important details and often frames the brand’s logo just beneath 12 o’clock.

Today, with social media and spontaneous wrist shots, we don’t always stop to set the hands before capturing a watch we love. But in professional studios around the world, 10:10 remains a familiar part of watch photography.
And today, October 10 — 10/10 — that tradition takes on another meaning. It’s World Watch Day.
Now in its second year, World Watch Day is a global celebration of the artistry, craftsmanship, innovation and heritage of watchmaking. Following an inaugural edition that reached more than six million people, this year’s celebration includes more than 55 events and initiatives worldwide, from exhibitions and workshops to educational programs and digital activities.
The 2026 theme, “Time as Living Heritage,” recognizes the centuries-old skills and traditions that continue to evolve and shape watchmaking’s future.

At 10:10 today, watch enthusiasts everywhere are invited to share a wrist shot using #WorldWatchDay. It’s a fitting way to celebrate something that connects us all: time.
I’m proud to be a partner in this international celebration, both personally and through ATimelyPerspective. Especially because I believe that watchmaking isn’t just an industry, it’s a global family.
