Just about a month ago, we here at Atimelyperpsective were first to bring you information about the new HYT HI watch movement– the first ever to combine liquid engineering with mechanical devices. You can read about the creators and the brand beginning again here.
Now, we bring you a great video and a look at the first actual watch – which will officially be unveiled in BaselWorld 2012 in March. The H1 proprietary manual-wind Swiss movement features a unique high-tech fluid module to display the time. The watch works via two fluids flowing through a 1.6mm microtube, wherein one fluid is colored and the other transparent. The two fluids work together to display the hours.
The watch, which is expected to sell for about $45,000, is the result of collaboration between Vincent Perriard, Lucien Vouillamoz (inventor of the micro tube technology), Bruno Moutarlier (production), Sébastien Perret (design), Swiss company Helbling (manufacture of the micro tube and liquid technology) and Jean-François Mojon and his team at Chronode (mechanical movement with hydraulic assembly).
