Or, looking for the perfect self-purchase for your winter dive trip but not too into buying dive-specific watch? You may want to stop looking after you have taken a close-up study of the Swiss-made Eterna Lady KonTiki Diver watch. Recently, we spent a couple of weeks alternating between two versions of these 200-meter water-resistant watches and we have to say, it was difficult to pack them up and ship them back. Time Travel, Kickstarter and My Klokers KLOK-01 Watch

 |  October 17th, 2016

By Simon Cudd I discovered the Klokers brand earlier this year, after noticing their kickstarter campaign and having a chat with Richard Piras, CEO and Co-founder, on messenger. I have known Richard a few years, and he brought it to my attention. The kickstarter campaign went viral on 15th September 2015 and reached 100% goal in 8 minutes. Exactly 1,563 backers pledged €605,898 to help bring this project to life. For those of you unfamiliar with Kickstarter, it’s a crowd-funding platform where individuals pledge an amount of money to a brand so they can create their product. Ritmo Mundo Quantum III – One Sided Appeal

 |  November 12th, 2013

Last month, we brought you the story of the new three=series Quantum collection from Ritmo Mundo – focusing on the Quantum 1. While the dial and the bezel feature carbon fiver patterns, the watch is equipped with an aluminum ring on one side of the bezel that draws unusual attention to it. Red, Orange, Blue, Green and hot pink are among the delightful colors, and naturally the seconds hand is color coordinated. What makes these lopsided…

Unveiling the Renato Master Horologe Line

 |  July 16th, 2013

We know our readers enjoy affordable watches that are packed with form and function. As such, we bring you the new Renato Master Horologe collection of timepieces.  The Renato Watches brand has been around for about eight years, but now, under the leadership of SLB LLC, the brand progresses to the Renato Master Horologe Swiss-made collection. For those who know this industry well, the brand was co-founded and is designed by Daniel Mink – no new comer to the business. In fact, back in the 1980’s Mink was behind the Daniel Mink watch line (including the then-innovative wood watches). The goal now with the new pieces is to offer function and Swiss-made timepieces at affordable prices. Among the newest pieces is…

Affordable Watches:88 Rue Du Rhone – Another New Kid on the Block

 |  March 1st, 2013

Continuing with our affordable Swiss-made watch portion of the week, we bring you the recently launched 88 Rue Du Rhone brand. This affordable Swiss-made collection is created by the Raymond Weil family (the grandsons of Raymond Weil). The name is derived from the most famous street in Geneva that runs along the river that is its namesake. The numeral 88 is inspired by the concept of the infinity of 8, representing good fortune and life. Gearing the new brand to appeal to a younger audience, Pierre and Elie Bernheim are offering stylish, value-oriented watches for men and women.  Timepieces range in size from 29mm to 42mm and are offered with quartz and automatic movements. The bulk of the business lies…
