Time Capsules: Product — STEAMPUNK CHRONO FROM RJ-ROMAIN JEROME

Housed in a 50mm-diameter case, the Steampunk Chrono is devoid of any dial so wearers and admirers can witness the mechanical self-winding movement, composed of more than 300 parts and secured by 4 screw-down pistons symbolizing the brand’s “X” motif.   The Steampunk Chrono features a bezel in oxidized and stabilized steel stemming from the extraordinary fusion between the metal of the legendary Titanic wreck lying 3,840 meters below the sea, and provided by the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast where the Titanic was built a century ago. This bezel is held firmly in place by four steel, black PVD-coated or red gold “paws.”

Faithfully reflecting the Titanic-DNA style, the minutes and seconds counters pay tribute to an engine room-inspired, Steampunk style. Thanks to an innovative mechanism, a mobile propeller driven by the oscillating weight enlivens the dial at 6 o’clock, recalling the majestic propellers of the Titanic itself. The hands also pay homage to the anchor of the gigantic ocean liner.  The watch is created in a 2,012-piece limited edition.

  1. I guess that's a nice piece of art! Such capability and design would be an expensive kind of watch. However, it looks like really interesting and worth it thing.
